Global Asset Management Day
Effective asset management helps organisations balance the performance, risks and costs of their assets throughout their entire lifecycle.
On 12 April, Global Asset Management Day highlights the importance of professional asset management worldwide. From industrial facilities to public infrastructure, informed asset management decisions contribute to reliability, safety, sustainability and long-term value creation.
Why Global Asset Management Day?
Effective asset management goes beyond maintaining machines and installations. It helps organisations to:
- achieve a better balance between performance, risks and costs;
- align maintenance and investment decisions;
- improve reliability, availability and safety;
- optimise asset lifespans and long-term value;
- use energy and resources more efficiently;
- make informed decisions about asset replacement and renewal.
Global Asset Management Day highlights these contributions and recognises the professionals who make strategic, technical and operational decisions about assets every day.
About Global Asset Management Day
Global Asset Management Day is an initiative of the Global Forum on Maintenance & Asset Management (GFMAM) and takes place annually on 12 April.
The first edition was held in 2026 under the theme Value Realised, Everywhere. The next edition will take place on 12 April 2027.
Around the world, companies, professional associations and other organisations share practical examples and insights into the value of professional asset management.
The initiative highlights how asset management helps organisations manage performance, costs and risks throughout the entire asset lifecycle, creating sustainable, long-term value.
BEMAS and Global Asset Management Day
BEMAS also contributes to the international exchange of knowledge and practical experience in professional asset management.
For the first edition in 2026, BEMAS organised the webinar Building Robust Asset Management Frameworks – Case Study from South African Government Infrastructure.
Using a real-world case study from South African public infrastructure, the webinar explored how a structured asset management framework can support better decision-making, leadership and organisation-wide collaboration.
