Takeda Named Technical Team of the Year 2023, Audience Award for GSK

Charleroi, April 27, 2023 – Today, BEMAS, the Belgian Maintenance Association, awarded the Technical Team of the Year in Wallonia during the Maintenance Forum. The three finalists – Engie Electrabel, GSK, and Takeda – presented their technical teams and the challenges they faced in recent months. BEMAS awarded two prizes to highlight technological innovation and human management in industrial performance.

 

Takeda

The Technical Team of the Year award went to Takeda, a pharmaceutical company based in Lessines. Their evolution in maintenance management was remarkable. Through true teamwork, they tackled the challenge of managing a rapidly growing number of installations, which quintupled between 2016 and 2022. At the same time, they enhanced operational performance, achieving: A drastic reduction in emergency interventions and 99% of operations executed on time.

"This outstanding achievement is the result of a collective approach, based on setting clear priorities and a modern vision for aging assets, supported by measurement and analysis techniques to assess asset health," said Professor Pierre Dehombreux, chairman of the jury.

GSK

The audience award went to GSK, a pharmaceutical company based in Wavre. Their goal was to increase the interval between major maintenance shutdowns to reduce costs and boost productivity. This was achieved through: A new RCM strategy (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and Redesigning critical components of production equipment

 

Engie

The third finalist, Engie Electrabel, demonstrated exemplary teamwork. They mobilized a skilled and motivated multidisciplinary team to repair a safety-critical component of the Tihange nuclear power plant in an extremely short timeframe.
