BEMAS, the Belgian maintenance association, today presented the annual award for Technical Team of the Year in Wallonia at the Maintenance Forum. With these awards, BEMAS wishes to highlight both human management and the daily commitment to working towards continuous improvement in maintenance and company results. Finalists Imerys and Safran presented their technical teams and explained the challenges they have recently overcome.

Safran is Technical Team of the Year 2025

The Technical Team of the Year award went to Safran. Safran Aero Boosters' Maintenance and Infrastructure team has an outstanding commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. Thanks to innovative initiatives such as the installation of intelligent energy management systems (EMS), heat recovery and the integration of renewable sources (wind, photovoltaic, and in the future, geothermal), the team has reduced energy consumption by 15% compared to 2019. Working closely with the infrastructure and IT departments, it has combined technical expertise, rigorous project management and employee awareness to lay the foundations for a sustainable future. This structured and detailed project, which aims to be carbon neutral by 2032, reflects Safran Aero Boosters' commitment to being a responsible leader in the aerospace industry. The interweaving of skills and objectives shared by production and support services earned it the congratulations of the jury.

Audience award for the Imerys Lixhe team

The Maintenance team at the Imerys Lixhe site is a fine example of how to adopt digital solutions to improve the management of maintenance operations. With sufficient maturity, the team took up the challenge of implementing a CMMS software package tailored to its needs, incorporating planning, technical documentation and historical analysis tools.

In two years, thanks to a methodical and collaborative approach, the team has achieved tangible results: significant time savings in daily planning, strong support from technicians, and interconnected tools. This digital transformation is part of a wider Industry 4.0 approach and demonstrates that adapting tools to the needs of teams is key to their success.
