The Technical Team of the Year award was granted to the National Institute for Radioelements (IRE).
Herstal, 23.04.2026 – BEMAS, the Belgian maintenance association, today presented the annual Technical Team of the Year award in Wallonia during the Forum Maintenance at Safran Aero Boosters. With this award, BEMAS aims to highlight both human management and the daily commitment to improving maintenance and company performance.
The finalists ABM-TECNA, IRE and Lutosa presented their technical teams and shared the challenges they have recently addressed.

The Technical Team of the Year award was granted to the National Institute for Radioelements (IRE).
In an environment with high regulatory requirements, the team carried out a profound transformation of its technical organisation. By structuring processes, clarifying roles and strengthening performance management, it succeeded in restoring confidence and sustainably improving the reliability of its critical installations.
The jury particularly appreciated the structured approach and transparency of the methodology, driven by a highly committed manager. The shared indicators and documents, concrete and accessible, made it possible to clearly understand the actions implemented and their underlying logic. The originality of the approach, developed in parallel with internal practices, as well as the ability to objectify results using tangible elements, strongly contributed to the credibility of the improvement project.

Audience Award for LUTOSA
The Audience Award was granted to Lutosa.
In a context of strong international competition, the team initiated an ambitious transformation of its technical organisation to position maintenance as a true value centre. By structuring activities around human change management and reliability, it laid the foundations for a sustainable improvement in installation availability.
The jury acknowledges the scale of the work carried out and the efforts made. This project demonstrates the potential of a structured transformation of maintenance towards a value-oriented and continuous improvement model.

ABM-TECNA – Understanding failure to sustainably improve the reliability of rotating machinery
The team stands out through an in-depth approach to failure analysis on rotating machinery within a customer-focused relationship. By going beyond symptoms to identify root causes, each intervention becomes an opportunity for learning and improvement. This approach enables clients to sustainably strengthen the reliability of their equipment. The jury appreciates, within an SME, the technical and human investment, particularly in synergy with technical education institutions.
