Duursma joins DEXIS: expanding the MRO network in the Benelux

Founded in 1896, Duursma employs around 200 people and operates 16 branches across the Netherlands. The company generates annual revenue of approximately €85 million and specialises in Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO): technical products and services that support industrial companies in maintaining and operating their installations.

Over the years, Duursma has developed expertise in areas including power transmission, bearing technology, pneumatics and hydraulics. The company also supplies tools, fasteners and personal protective equipment. Specialist maintenance, repair and overhaul services complete its offering.

This combination of products and technical services complements DEXIS’s existing activities. The acquisition also strengthens DESCOURS & CABAUD’s presence in the Netherlands, where the group already serves the industrial maintenance market through DEXIS Netherlands and HVO.

DEXIS has been present in the Belgian market for sixty years through IMES, which later developed into DEXIS Belgium. Today, the Belgian organisation has nine branches and around 400 employees. It builds on the experience of businesses including IMES DEXIS, Van den Broeck DEXIS, Central Auto DEXIS, Eltec DEXIS and Duvivier DEXIS.

Duursma’s integration is particularly relevant to customers with production sites in both Belgium and the Netherlands. Through its expanded network, DEXIS aims to support these companies across borders while maintaining local proximity and technical expertise.

According to Johan Vos, Director DEXIS North Europe, the acquisition addresses the needs of customers operating in both countries. He highlights the pragmatic, people-focused approach shared by the two companies. Their joint ambition is to support continuity for people and machinery in production environments.

Beyond the geographical expansion, DEXIS sees opportunities to exchange knowledge and further develop specialist services. Duursma’s repair, assembly and overhaul activities complement capabilities already available within DEXIS.

According to the group, this combination creates scope for closer cooperation between technical teams. DEXIS intends to use this expertise to further develop its range of technical products, maintenance services and support for industrial customers across the Benelux.
