BP Castrol convinces the jury with a clear vision and a phased improvement approach
BP Castrol was named Technical Team of the Year 2026 by the jury. The chair of the jury summed it up well: “The team stood out with a clearly substantiated approach in which planning, vision and continuous improvement were central.” The jury highlighted, among other things, the clear roadmap, the sharp definition of value drivers, and the translation of these into concrete actions and results.
The broad involvement across the organization was also a decisive factor for the jury. The journey was clearly supported by the team as a whole, with strong attention to collaboration, self-reflection and step-by-step progress. The annual self-assessment, linked to a concrete action plan, was explicitly appreciated. According to the jury, the structural use of methods such as RCA also underlined the team’s maturity and ambition.

LBC Tank Terminals wins the Audience Award
LBC Tank Terminals proved to be the most convincing to the audience and won the Audience Award. The team presented a strong improvement journey towards maintenance excellence, with particular attention to digital transformation. The digital solution stood out for its completeness, broad accessibility and immediate usability.
In addition, LBC also achieved tangible technical progress. By focusing specifically on reliability and effective maintenance principles, the team made clear advances in safety, financial performance and customer satisfaction. According to the jury, the project demonstrates that a strong focus on fundamentals, combined with smart digitalization, can be an important lever for further professionalization.
Equans also demonstrates the added value of strong technical teamwork
Equans presented a technically complex and highly specific use case that was successfully completed. The jury was impressed by the concrete results: the turnaround time for the overhaul of a strategic reciprocating compressor was reduced from four weeks to eleven days. This result was achieved through thorough work preparation, clear choices regarding the critical path, and great flexibility in execution.
The jury also emphasized how Equans demonstrated that work preparation and safety can go hand in hand. The project illustrates how technical expertise, tight organization and a strong focus on safety can lead to tangible results together.
