Andreas Gürtler – Founding Director, EiiF (European Industrial Insulation Foundation)
Andreas Gürtler is Foundation Director of the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF) and a TIPCHECK Expert. Since the start of EiiF in 2009, he has been actively promoting the role of technical insulation in improving industrial energy efficiency and reducing CO₂ emissions. Through the development and promotion of the TIPCHECK programme, he has extensive experience in demonstrating the energy- and cost-saving potential of better insulation in industrial installations. In 2022, he received the Global Insulation Personality of the Year award for his contribution to the sector.
Ellen van Slobbe – Region Manager BeNe, Knauf Technical Insulation
Ellen van Slobbe is Region Manager BENE at Knauf Insulation Technical Solutions and a certified TIPCHECK Expert. She has extensive practical experience with technical insulation in industrial environments, with a particular focus on energy efficiency, reducing thermal energy losses and improving insulation performance. As a TIPCHECK Expert, she supports industrial companies in identifying insulation deficiencies and quantifying potential energy and CO₂ savings. During the webinar, Ellen will illustrate how a TIPCHECK works in practice and share insights from an industrial case.

Save The Date – Workshop Identifying Insulation Energy Savings in Practice
Following the webinar, BEMAS and EiiF are planning a 3-hour practical onsite workshop: “Identifying Insulation Energy Savings in Practice.” The workshop give sparticipants the opportunity to move from theory to hands-on application in an industrial environment.
With guidance from Andreas Gürtler and Luis López (EiiF) and Ellen van Slobbe (Knauf Insulation Technical Solutions), participants will explore the fundamentals of energy-efficient insulation, work with the EN 17956 Energy Efficiency Classes and Distance Calculator, and gain first practical experience with the TIPCHECK TOOL.
A key part of the workshop will be a practical plant exercise, during which participants work in small teams to inspect several components, estimate potential energy savings and discuss possible insulation improvements.
The workshop connects energy efficiency directly with day-to-day maintenance responsibilities, including reducing energy losses, improving process stability, identifying damaged insulation, supporting better maintenance planning, protecting personnel and lowering operating costs.
