Modern maintenance practices call for a focus on assets that need immediate attention as well as a more efficient use of limited resources. A preventive approach based on routine inspections no longer fits the growing number of smart instruments, valves and rotating machines in the industrial environment.

By acting more effectively, asset availability increases and with the help of advanced EDGE analytics, production objectives can be achieved more easily and without the intervention of an expert. Challenges addressed
The biggest challenge is the lack of resources and the increasing difficulty of recruiting talented employees. This in combination with an increasing amount of data that needs to be processed, whereby it is not always possible to convert all data into usable information and targeted maintenance actions. Companies depend on external parties, which means that they do not own the data and that bundling monitoring data with process data from DCS sytems can only be limited to a minimum.
