How to set up a failure mode driven maintenance plan with the right predictive techniques?
Not every component in your plant wears out in the same way. Not every failure carries the same consequences and risks. Therefore, there is a great efficiency gain hidden in a maintenance approach that takes into account the different failure modes. It is important that there is a balance between the risk of failure and the investment required to set up and carry out maintenance tasks.
During this two-day training, you will learn all the principles and techniques to set up a failure mode driven maintenance plan. This training allows you to select the appropriate predictive techniques for the failure mode in place.
Learning objectives
- Identify improvement initiatives
- Understand the principles of predictive maintenance
- Know the definitions of failure mode, failure effect and root cause
- Know the following analysis techniques:
- Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Asset Health Assurance (AHA)
- Selecting the right analysis technique for each failure mode
- Identify the fundamental requirements necessary to draw up a maintenance plan
- Create an Asset Health Matrix
- Select the machines that should be part of a predictive maintenance programme
- Achieve the right balance between the amount of predictive and preventive tasks
- Integrate a new maintenance plan into the existing approach
- Use predictive techniques to detect failure modes:
- ultrasonic analysis (airborne & structure-borne)
- thermography
- oil analysis
- vibration analysis
- Knowing and being able to avoid common faults for each predictive technique
- Being able to start a predictive maintenance programme (both in terms of training and technology)
- Know what "Asset Health" is, and how to measure it
- Apply the concepts of functional hierarchy and FMEA
Who is this training for?
This training is designed for managers, engineers, work planners and supervisors responsible for the creation and implementation of a maintenance strategy.
About the trainer
Tom Rombouts dedicates his career entirely to maintenance organisations: production and project planning, process & reliability engineering, work preparation and revision coordination, quality management, QA and quality monitoring of critical spare parts, automation and data innovation ... Since 2017 Tom is Reliability consultant and certified trainer/coach at I-care. With his extensive knowledge he also guides several industrial players in their maintenance planning, FMEA and data innovation projects.
